Jackie comes from a long line of driven and dynamic women. Her grandmother instilled in her a deep sense of community participation, teaching her how to reach out and find new opportunities, and setting the standard that “if you have, share.”
Jackie has lived a life in service of others. A frequent participant in community service work across Tulsa and a business owner who gave herself the dual responsibility of both running a successful business and working in stewardship of her community, Jackie has not only the heart of a public servant, but the broad base of experiences and competence to be effective.
Throughout her work as a community advocate and through her experiences as an actively participating neighbor, Jackie has grown passionate about the ability for municipal policy to improve the quality of life for everyday people, particularly when it can create community partnerships and open space for collaboration.
As a result, Jackie has gotten involved in advocacy before the council and at the municipal level on behalf of her neighbors. She is ready to dedicate her full effort in service of her community on the Council; but she needs your help to get there.
Improving the quality of our neighborhoods improves the economic opportunities within them and increases the economic activity taking place here in District 3, improving lives across our community.
By finding partnerships with organizations and entities inside and outside of District 3, new developments can emphasize District 3 as the Gateway into Tulsa, bringing new jobs, new destinations, and new opportunities.
By bringing more business into District 3, not only can we create a safer and more prosperous community, but we can also create a more dynamic and proud community as well.
A member of the district 3 community, Jackie believes that by harnessing the vibrancy of this community we can rewrite the narrative that has long held District 3 back: that financial status should dictate what is possible for us.
Because this district is so underinvested in, even small strategic investments will make an incredible difference in the everyday lives of the community. Simple investments in better sidewalks and curbs, street lighting, and improved ADA accessible infrastructure, including for the visually and hearing impaired and those with alternative mobilities, will create opportunities for further growth, better lives, and richer cultural expression.
Jackie is familiar with the vulnerability that comes with living paycheck-to-paycheck, and she knows that secure housing is key to financial stability, particularly for renters. Knowing this, Jackie believes in leveraging programs across city departments including the City’s respective commissions and service programs as well as Tulsa community non-profits to ensure that homeowners and renters alike have access to the resources needed to stay in their homes.
